What an amazing award-winning and record-breaking year we have had that has seen our three signature events attract 80K visitors to our waterfront!
🌟 Easter Weekend saw us bring ITV’s incredibly popular Brainiac event to RWY Royal William Yard 4 days packed with fun for families, seeing them build their rockets and launch them to Mars! A SOLD-OUT event, enjoyed by over 1000 people, that raised £1k+ for Jeremiah’s Journey !
🌟 Pirates Weekend, a record-breaking and now award-winning event attracting 41k visitors across the weekend! Introducing, the first-of-its kind Pirate Fun Run, with 200+ Pirates taking to our glorious Hoe and waterfront and helping us raise over £2k for Jeremiah’s Journey
🌟 Britain In Bloom 2024, maintaining our Silver Gilt Award, we continue to work with sponsors, volunteers and our businesses to create vibrant and interesting places where people can dwell and enjoy!
🌟 Seafest Weekend, attracting over 25K to the Barbican, Sutton Harbour, Royal William Yard, and our waterfront gateways! This year’s event saw us partner with the Plymouth Sound National Marine Park showcasing everything that’s great about our waterfront area, including more music, chef pop-ups, entertainment, and activities for people to engage both on and in the water!
🌟 Barbican Christmas Light Switch On event – Exceeding numbers again with over 14K visitors enjoying the festivities, the stalls, the entertainment and our new music stage! Our incredible Community Hero, Jo Connett switched on the lights with the Deputy Lord Mayor, Muddles (aka Andy Ford) from Theatre Royal Plymouth ‘s Panto, all under the authentic and experienced guidance of Santa Claus!
Afterwards, we took 10 families, all supported by Jeremiah’s Journey on the Santa Bus Tour visiting the The Duke of Cornwall Hotel for goodie bags, and Steel Brew RWY for hot chocolate; drawing a heartwarming close to an exceptional switch on!
🌟 Devon Tourism Awards, we WON a Bronze Award for our Pirates Weekend!! Next year, we will be entering again.
🌟 Small Business Saturday Tour! We put Plymouth on the national tour this year, raising the profile of just some of our successful independent businesses. We will be looking at more campaigns next year to support our businesses.
🌟 Saltram Rotary Plymouth Santa Fun Run 2024! Another record smashing event for the waterfront. With over 800 Santa’s taking part. A glorious sight, of red and white, with smiles that delight, running with all their might 🙂 We are waiting to hear how much has been raised for Jeremiah’s Journey and Shekinah but know it will be more than last year!
