I have worked as Plymouth City Councils Visitor Services Manager for many years, managing the Tourist Information Centre and Mayflower Museum. I have worked in two sites on the Barbican over the last 20 years and have come to know the area and community well. I am an active member of the Association of Barbican Businesses and have organised and managed many events and activities around the Waterfront, including the Barbican Raft Race, trails and visits from   Santa! Myself and the team at the TIC are there to help all our neighbours in the residential and businesses community of the Barbican and can act as a link between the local businesses and Plymouth City Council.

I’m a Digital Media Consultant with over 12 years of experience, specialising in building digital communities and supporting businesses, organisations and events to thrive online. I enjoy working alongside businesses to create bespoke packages to help them raise awareness and drive footfall/sales.

I also maintain online community networks around Plymouth and I’m co-founder of One Plymouth, helping to celebrate the #BestOfPlymouth where I get to meet many business owners on the ground, around the city and across its vibrate Waterfront. I’m also the FSB Plymouth Committee Hospitality and Tourism lead.

I’m passionate about Plymouth’s Waterfront and through my roles, including helping to manage the PWP Social Media channels, I’ve been working with hospitality and retail businesses in the city and Waterfront in various ways for over 10 years. Always happy to help.

General Manager – Moxy Hotel
Theme – Business Voice
Sector Representation – Hospitality

Having been born and raised in Plymouth I’ve naturally a great love for our brilliant city. I started working in catering at the age of 15 in a local Plymstock chip shop, I soon found a love for all things hospitality and catering despite the endless bags of ‘spuds’ and buckets of chips! My first hotel role was in the restaurant at the former Marine Hotel, Salcombe, now the Harbour Hotel, Salcombe. Having started as a terrified 16-year-old, I quickly found my feet and confidence, this brought me to the Duke of Cornwall Hotel in 1994 as a semi-rookie (well complete rookie really), the skills I learnt through the various departments set me up to progress and strive to gain respect and responsibility. With ‘some’ time in sales and retail, my real passion always brought me back to hospitality and I worked my way up the ‘ladder’ and through management, now as General Manager or some say ‘Captain’ of Moxy Hotel Plymouth.

I have always had the drive to help shape progress and support my colleagues, something I hope I can bring to the Plymouth Waterfront Partnership and help to drive the visitor economy in Plymouth. With decades of experience and commercial knowledge of the market, and the locals, I hope to offer sensible advice and support to the advisory panel
