King’s Coronation Planned Entertainment – Changes
Unfortunately due to the heavy rain forecast for Saturday, the planned King’s Coronation screening and entertainment over the weekend has been moved to Plymouth Guildhall
Southside Street will be open as normal on Saturday.

A new date for your event diaries! 😃 The King’s Coronation service and concert to will be shown on a big screen on the #Plymouth #Barbican Parade. (Saturday 6th May)
Nearby, Quay Square and Southside Street (closed for the day), will have charity stalls and stands, roving entertainment, children’s activities and a street party zone with tables and chairs for people to share food and picnics.
On Sunday 7th May from midday, there will be entertainment on the main stage, with live bands until the live screening of the Coronation Concert taking place at Windsor Castle.
Plymouth residents are being invited to come together to watch the King’s Coronation ceremony and concert in May.
The events are to be shown on a big screen in the Barbican so people can enjoy the historic occasion with others, thanks to help with the screening costs from the DCMS and UK Government.
The procession and service will be shown on a big screen on The Parade, which has proven to be a popular location for live events.
More information about the Coronation in Plymouth will be announced once the BBC has confirmed the schedule.
Councillor Pat Patel, Cabinet member for Customer Services, Culture, Leisure and Sport, said: “The King’s Coronation is an important national occasion and we are delighted to be offering an opportunity for people to come together and enjoy it with others with the public screening and events on the Barbican.
“There’s no better excuse for a party than the Coronation and we hope people of all ages will join in events and celebrations in the Barbican and across the city.”
