This weekend, Plymouth waterfront will once again transform into a haven for buccaneers and landlubbers alike for the annual Pirates Weekend!
With just a day left until the cannons sound and the shanties echo, excitement is building for a weekend packed with entertainment for all ages.
This year’s Pirates Weekend promises a bounty of activities and family fun entertainment, including:
- A wide variety of sea shanty bands
- The Pirates Weekend Trail in partnership with Hay’s Travel
- Nautical-themed market stalls with unique treasures
- Gables Farm Pirate-themed Dog Show on Sunday afternoon (from 2pm – sign up via the Gables gazebo)
- And, just announced, The Island Trust’s Johanna Lucretia will be alongside in Sutton Harbour on Sunday for visitors to find out more about this 80-year-old maiden of the high seas
It’s not too late to sign up to the Jeremiah’s Journey Pirate Fun Run being held on Sunday at 10.30am. There’s a treasure trove of entertainment, activities and fun to be had from Bretonside to the Barbican, from West Hoe to Royal William Yard, and to help make your pirate adventure even easier, a free ‘Aargh and Ride’ specially branded shuttle bus kindly supported by Plymouth CityBus will be operating on a continuous loop, picking up and dropping off at existing route number 25 stops, connecting all the key locations across the waterfront.
